Beth & Matt’s Intimate Doncaster Town Hall Wedding and Relaxed Reception in Hooton Pagnell

Beth and Matt’s intimate micro-wedding at Doncaster Mansion House followed by a relaxed reception at 1903 in Hooton Pagnell. Captured by Yorkshire Wedding Photographer, Laura Wood Photography.

Beth and Matt were married this July in a relaxed and beautifully intimate ceremony at Doncaster’s Mansion House. The ceremony was followed by a reception at 1903 in the pretty village of Hooton Pagnell. Beth and Matt booked my micro-wedding package as they only needed 3 hours of photography to tell the story of their day. I’m so glad to see a rise in the number of people opting to keep things small but still recognising that the story of their day should be documented with meaningful photographs.

Beth and Matt at 1903’s bar. I wasn’t going to be there when it reached night time so we created a fun, night time feel image using direct flash at the bar.

Matt arrived in Doncaster ahead of the ceremony and went for drinks with immediate friends and family at a bar close to Mansion House.

We were able to stay in the ceremony room for a little while after the ceremony which meant we had time to create portraits using the history and charm of Doncaster Mansion House.

It was an honour to document Beth and Matt’s intimate wedding. I love small weddings just as much as the big ones and every wedding receives my full care, energy and love no matter its size. Louisa and Ian were married this July at Dunston Hall in a relaxed and intimate ceremony. Colourful summer florals and the many beautiful spaces of Dunston Hall meant that every moment of this wedding was stunning. Dunston Hall feels both intimate and impressive at the same time - its quintessential English charm and modern approach to weddings makes for a gorgeous wedding venue where every corner feels like the perfect opportunity for photographs.

Louisa and Ian’s ceremony. Tip for your wedding day - hold that kiss for a little longer so we can swap places with whoever is officiating! It gives us more time to get into the perfect position and means we may also be able to capture glimpses of your guests reactions in the background.

The day ended with live music by The Jazz Pops

Louisa and Ian’s day was a joy to photograph and Dunston Hall was the perfect venue to bring their wedding vision to life. I can’t recommend Dunston hall enough - the team are so professional, caring and friendly and they made sure the day ran like a dream. With the mixed weather this summer has brought us it was wonderful to have the option of beautiful indoor spaces for portraits as well as being able to use the grounds when the rain stopped.

If you’re planning a wedding at Dunston Hall and would like to have a chat about your photography then I would love to hear from you! You can read about our approach to weddings and get in touch here.

Elin & Will at Burtonfields Hall, York.

Elin and Will were married at Burtonfields Hall in York this May. Their wedding was relaxed, intimate and gorgeous.

Yorkshire Wedding Photographer Burtonfields Hall York

Elin and Will got married this May at Burtonfields Hall, York. Elin and Will wanted the day to feel relaxed, intimate and joyful and it was all of those things. The weather was beautiful and Burtonfields’ grounds were awash with sunlight and colour. Elin and Will are the most lovely, laid-back couple and the most important thing for them was that they were with one another and all the people they love.

Burtonfields Hall is the most beautiful private home and is fast becoming one of my favourite wedding venues. The attention to detail is second to none and the venue’s old drawing and living rooms make this the perfect space for couples who want their wedding to feel intimate. Despite the venue’s history and stylish decor it succeeds hugely as feeling like home.

Elin, Will and some of their guests stayed the night before in Burtonfields’ stunning bedrooms. Elin and Will chose to get ready together which felt intimate and gorgeously romantic.

Elin’s beautiful pre-loved wedding dress was chosen with sustainability in mind. The previous owner said they hoped it had gone to a good home and it definitely had.

Elin and Will’s wedding ceremony took place in Burtonfields Hall Billiard Room. Each said their own vows and the spring breeze filled the room as the doors to the grounds were kept open.

Floral design was by sustainable florist Clock Dandelion. The flowers were so vibrant and joyful and worked beautifully with the vibe of the day.

We took some time with Elin and Will to make portraits of the two of them. We chose to do this at two different times of day so that the light and mood felt different each time. This is a beautiful way of ensuring your photographs tell the full story of your wedding day - you want to remember how the light and breeze felt, how the sky looked, how the flowers danced and how the birds sounded as you enjoy a few moments alone as a couple.

Speeches were meaningful, emotional and gorgeous. Speeches were followed by a meal by Dom’s Kitchen. We were lucky enough to enjoy the meal too and the asparagus tart is one of the nicest things I have ever eaten!

The day ended with a ceilidh with music by The Tartan Trio.

It was such a joy to be part of Elin and Will’s wedding day. In Will’s speech he said that Elin radiates love but they both do. Their day was truly representative of who they are as a couple and Burtonfields Hall was the perfect setting for their late spring wedding.

Chloé & Anthony

Chloé & Anthony

Chloé and Anthony got married this summer in Wentworth, South Yorkshire. Wentworth is one of my favourite places and, if you’re local, it’s maybe one of yours too - it’s picture perfect and all the pubs are in walking distance from the church meaning the day flowed in a really easy and relaxed way. Chloé and Anthony’s wedding was filled with fun, joy and love from start to finish.

Chloé got ready with her family and friends at home and Anthony got ready at The Rockingham Arms then took the short walk to Wentworth Church.

The ceremony at beautiful Wentworth Church

The walk from Wentworth Church to the Rockingham Arms was perfect for capturing moments between the newly married couple.

We headed to The Rockingham Arms for drinks, speeches and the wedding breakfast. The converted barn at The Rockingham Arms is perfect for laid back couples who want their day to feel relaxed and informal.

The barn was filled with hundreds of candles which created a warm and intimate energy.

wedding photographer yorkshire wentworth rotherham sheffield

After dinner Anthony set up a pop up whisky and cigar bar for him and his friends in the grounds of the pub. The photos with smoke from the cigars worked really well with the backlight of the summer evening’s low sun.

The party was in full swing as soon as the cake had been cut and first dance had been had.

Before we were due to leave we noticed the sun setting and a rare opportunity for golden hour photographs on the fields behind The Rockingham Arms. Chloé and Anthony were up for leaving the party for five minutes and I’m so glad they were - it was the perfect way to end our day with them which had been gorgeous from top to bottom.

Love,

Laura
